Resources are reviewed for relevance, a working path to the organization and understandable information about what the service provides. Because every outside organization controls its own website and services, availability, eligibility, cost, confidentiality and web addresses can change after a review.

Will my department know that I used 98 Hero?
98 Hero does not ask for an account or name and does not notify a department when you use the site. Your browser, device, network, phone carrier and any outside organization you contact may keep their own records. See the privacy page for details.
Is 98 Hero part of the NYPD or an employee-assistance program?
No. 98 Hero is an independently created resource hub. It is not operated by the NYPD and is not an employee-assistance program. The directory includes independent, public and department-affiliated resources, and identifies where each one comes from.
How are resources selected?
Listings are drawn from official public agencies, provider websites and organizations serving law enforcement, first responders or families. We look for a clear purpose, a direct way to reach help and information relevant to the people 98 Hero serves. A listing is not an endorsement or guarantee of fit.
What if a resource has changed or a link is broken?
Outside organizations can move pages, change eligibility or stop a service. 98 Hero reviews directory destinations periodically and updates or removes listings that are no longer reliable. The site does not collect resource reports or personal information.
